Earth Hour TOMORROW!

We did this last year and it felt great! We actually left our lights off for two hours and used candles and flash lights, the kids loved it!

Communicable Diseases

So, I thought I had lice. EWW. EWW. There was a child in my preschool class who had lice and I was wearing my hair up in buns for the rest of the week. However my head was so itchy! I was 95% sure that it was all psychological, but there was that 5% that was hanging over me wondering if I actually had lice. The longer I waited, the more likely that I would spread it to my family if I did have it. You never realize how many times a day you itch your head until you think you have lice. After work yesterday I spent the afternoon "RIDding" myself. Well after you use the fabulous little lice comb they provide you with it's obvious if you have lice or not. Thank goodness I did NOT! However, if I hadn't just treated myself, I would still be sitting here itching my head wondering, so thank you RID for giving me peace of mind, the $12.45 was worth it!

St. Patty's

Have you ever started a tradition that you regretted after the first year, but kept it up anyway?? I did, and it is all about St. Patricks Day. A pretty stupid holiday if you asked me, but I guess I was feeling festive 4 years ago and and began something that I didn't realize I would not be too excited about later. I told Mia that leprechauns liked playing tricks on sleeping children and the night before St. Patrick's Day they would sneak into the house and play a few of their tricks. Now every March 16 I have to think of some way to wreak havoc upon our house and blame it on the leprechauns. This year the leprechauns toilet papered the kids rooms, colored all Mia's nails green in her sleep and dyed our eggs green. Oh and a daddy leprechaun got excited and cut up a bunch of confetti and threw it all over the rooms too, and I have the joy of cleaning it all up. Over the years our windows have been tinted green with green saran wrap, our milk has been turned green, we've had shamrocks taped up all over the house, and all our socks mis-matched. Those sneaky leprechauns! The sooner this tradition is over the better! Any ideas for next year? I'm out (nothing too over the top for mommy's sake).

Here today, gone tomorrow

Mia lost her front tooth and man did she get a reward from the tooth fairy! My idea was $2 for the two front teeth and $1 for the rest. Lucky for her she was spending the night at her Nana & Papa's house because the tooth fairy gave her $10!!!!!!!!! She still has another front tooth to go, so I guess I'm going to have to send her back up there when she loses that one since my thought of $2 seems piddly now.
Can you tell it's barely hanging on in this pic?

Two more are loose too!

Aloha!

Hawaii was wonderful. The big island really grew on us and I think it might just be our favorite of the 3 Hawaiian islands we've been to. It has amazing beaches, the snorkeling was excellent, we did miss the sun though. It was at least 75 degrees every day, but overcast the whole time. We went to a fun luau, visited an awesome beach every day, and hung out at one of the most amazing hotels we've ever seen. Mia swam with dolphins and said it was her "dream come true". She was a great traveler, but did miss her brothers. We didn't make it to the volcanoes, but we'll be back...one day.
