Block party

A week ago had a real live, old fashioned block party on our street to celebrate Labor Day. It was fantastic! The street was closed to traffic, all the neighbors were out, the kids were running around together. For lunch there was a potluck in the middle of the street, the kids had a water fight that lasted an hour, we had a bounce house. It's amazing how one single block party can bring a street together. We've lived here three years and hadn't met the family two doors down until this shin dig. I highly recommend it. I hope it's something we can do every year.
