Happy Birthdays!

First was my brother Ryan's on May 28th. I was a sucky sister and didn't even call, but I did manage to shoot him an e-card on the actual date. We love Ryan, and wished he and his sweet family lived closer so we could hang out on a more regular basis. He's a hard worker and we're happy that he gets to do what he loves. Happy 28th!

And the other recent birthday was the father of our family, Aaron!
He turned 34 yesterday and we had a great celebration. We had all his family over for a picnic lunch, including his aunt Bobby and uncle John who are visiting from their 2 year sail around the world trip. They are the ones who lived in our house before we got to move in. They were very happy with all the improvements we have made around here so far. But back to Aaron, he also got to take a nice long nap (one of his most favorite things) followed by a nice quiet dinner. His mom watched the kids so we could go out. It will be the last quiet we have for a while, we have a busy couple of weeks ahead. For his birthday he got a new yard! We had our front and rear yards majorly spruced up and he couldn't be happier with the end result (pics to come). So we hope you had a happy birthday, we love you so much!

I did it!

I finished War and Peace. I can't believe it! If you remember this you know how difficult it was for me to get through. It took me two months and one week to read it cover to cover and was completely worth it. I think when something is hard for you and you master it, it is just a little bit closer to your heart. I somehow feel more accomplished having that in my literary arsenal. Even though it's fiction, I learned a lot about actual Russian events and Napoleon. I don't know what's next on my reading list, but I'm ready to start something new. And I finished the Shopaholic series a month ago-pretty good, but my favorite of all Sophie Kinsella's novels is definitely Can You Keep a Secret?

Have a nice day!

To all Mothers, Mums & Mommies; Furbaby Moms & Mumsies, Mothers-to-be & Mothers at heart, Green Moms and Mother Earth, Madres & Mamas, Mother Goose & Mother Hens, To all the WONDERFUL women in the world...Happy Mother's Day!

I am so thankful to have had such a wonderful example of a good mother growing up. I know not everyone has that and I do thank God every day for having her in my life and also having her at a Grandmother to my kids. I couldn't have gotten a much better Mother-in-law either. She has accepted me as one of her own and is there for us no matter what is going on in her own life. We love you so much Moms!!

All I want for Mother's Day is for Aaron to fix the kitchen faucet and not to have to change ANY diapers!

Runner up!

Mia had her school's annual Spring Stampede on Friday and she did great. She ran a total of 25 laps in 20 minutes, that's 2 more than last year! I got to help out with the event which was a lot of fun. The boys cheered their sister on and Aaron even made it out to witness the excitement.
